We admire Guitarmakers. We admire those who can teach Guitar playing. We Appreciate Guitars. We Polish and Buff Guitars. We make Guitars play Better. We upgrade Guitars. We search for great Guitar Tone. We are in awe of the Great Guitar Players. We admire the average Guitar players. We are inspired by the beginning Guitar players. We like most people who like Guitars. We love the wood that Guitars are made from. We love the smell of the wood when Guitars are being made. We love the music that Guitars can make. We love the experiences that Guitars have given to us. We love our wives, girlfirends, boyfriends, partners, children and friends who understand the guitar that is in us. We love the energy that flows from the soundboard to the ear. We love the energy that flows in that amazing and alive circuit that rockets from the finger, to the string,to the wood and to the pickup, to the tube , to the speaker, and then to the world.

We love that Guitars are at last our vocation.

WE LOVE GUITARS.

Some History

In 1964 a youngster received a Silvertone Sunburst Flat-Top Guitar as a Christmas gift. It was soon to be known as "the El Kabong"...The Next year that same youngster saw Peter, Paul, and Mary introduce the work of a young Bob Dylan at the Yale Bowl. There was no turning back.

Over the next couple of decades, via the serendipity of opportunities to sometimes work on music industry sidelines, and to sometimes "play out" regionally, there was influence by and close exposure to some great players.

It is hard to imagine the direct in-person impact of the likes of  The Electric Elves...The James Gang (1st with Joe Walsh, then Tommy Bolin)......Al Anderson with The WildWeeds....Savoy Brown...John Mayall.....Fleetwood Mac Blues Band with Peter Green.....Beck, Bogert, and Appice...Cactus...Lowell George....Local legends Michael Berardi, as he broke new improvisational ground in the East Village eventually migrating to a base in San Francisco, and then Steve Famigiletti as he studied with Linc Chamberlain........ the experiences were many and real, and the effects were profound.

So here we are, another few eons down the road, fortunate and privileged to know and associate with,  those who are thought of  as being the best builder/artists in the world today....surrounding ourselves with a commitment to have something positive to relay and impart  to whomever would want to strike a chord to release some music from within.

We are very pleased to offer our experience, energies  and whatever related  knowledge we might have, toward the happy end of assisting you, our clients, in finding and obtaining your ideal instrument.

We at Barking Dog Guitar Traders hope we will be a positive factor in helping with your quest for tone.
